The Privileges by Jonathan Dee

Well, I definitely am not worthy of deciding on the Pulitzer Prize winners; but I see why this was runner up.... A book that has no climax, no true beginning, nor end. How frustrating. Regardless, it got us talking and kept us on the edge and now we are all pissed off. What kind of ending was that? Though the worst part about it, i think we would all recommend it.

On to why I am here. We are all about assigning the movie dream cast. Granted, there is already a TV series that mimics the book, but OMG, I think this book has a lot more depth than that show, um Hello?!

IDK what my problem is. Must focus.

the cast:

Cynthia - Hands down must be GP.

Adam - Christopher Gorham (if you don't know who he is; IMDB him, you will melt)

Jonas - Angus T Jones (though can he really act, or is his Two and a Half Men persona really him. If so, I'm Heidi Klumming his ass)

April - insert hip teeny bopper current IT girl who is not IT because she's pure sexy. I wish Christina Ricci was still a teen. Miley Cyrus could actually do this, if we all didn't want to sing It's the Best of both Worlds everytime we saw her.

As you can see I'm still working on this, and really want suggestions. Let me know your thoughts. And no, do not suggest Blake Lively or Blair Waldorf, or Jenny Humphrey, or any of them. Wait, what's her name could work, the bad girl that was pregnant that everyone hates. GEORGINA! Gotta go check IMDB, be back later.

You know you love me.

Before I Go To Sleep - S.J. Watson

Dear Blog - i am very sorry i have been neglecting you. I blame it on the Belles... I promise that i will be more attentive.

Love, SKG.

Now that i've cleared the air, i'm going to let you in on our new plan. We have a facebook page; yes, blog, we are cheating on you with Facebook and MY does it feel good. So much attention and love and pictures and commentary. It's THRILLING.

Speaking of thrilling, we read a thriller this month, Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson. Though, I felt it was a little predictable, it was very fun, fast paced read and lead to great discussion and more importantly, and fantastic casting section. We got a little sloppy at the end with the cast, so I am only going to list the main characters.

Claire: Patricia Clarkson

Ben: Matthew Settle

Mike: Ralph Fiennes

Dr. Nash: James Mardsen

Christine: Robin Wright Penn

Oh, I got side tracked, from this point forward the blog will be for casting only. For information on what we are reading (and how fabulous we are), you have to visit us on FB: The Open Book Club.

Enjoy!
